PetrSU forms knowledge bases for the synthesis of patentable solutions in various sectors of the economy. Initial development of the knowledge base in the field of industrial use of low-temperature plasma.

Based on the experience of Petrozavodsk University in the field of knowledge base formation, an overview of inventions and patents for utility models patented in 2017 in Russia in the field of industrial use of low-temperature plasma was made.

A wide range of applications of low-temperature plasma in industry and in the social sphere is shown. An opinion was expressed on the underestimation of the potential of low-temperature plasmas in forestry and in the timber industry. It is advisable to use low-temperature plasma for presowing treatment of forest seeds.
