The article is devoted to the issues of preparation of masters for real sectors of the economy, possessing the necessary theoretical knowledge, skills and practical skills of managing innovative development and organization of production systems. Reflected the needs of the Nizhny Novgorod region in highly skilled management personnel who own the latest complex of professional competencies for doing business in the country, as well as foreign economic activities in various world commodity markets.

The article deals with the concept of tandem training, which implies pair work of students aimed at achieving a specific learning goal, in which each partner alternately plays the role of a trainee and a teacher. The author describes the experience of applying the tandem training method at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, in preparation for the final qualifying work by the students aspiring for the additional qualification "Translator in the field of professional communication". Participants of the tandem were graduate students of the program "Translator in the field of professional communication" and second year Master students majoring in translation and interpretation.

The phenomenon of international internships of students in the historical perspective of an idea and its relevance today. Specifics of the international training as scientific educational programs with effective social and pedagogical support of masters in experience of the Orenburg pedagogical higher education institution is realized.
