В статье рассматривается суть фольклора как творческого процесса, находящегося в постоянном развитии, движении и обновлении. Фольклор – явление глобальное, многослойное и всеобъемлющее. Это бытовое искусство, рожденное из самой жизни, неразрывно связанное с нею, в свою очередь, оказывает всепроникающее влияние на жизнь и развитие всего общества. Будучи выразителем мыслей и чувств народа, хранителем его исторической памяти, характера и духа, оно приобретает далеко идущее нравственно-эстетическое и познавательное значение. В работе использовались теоретические и эмпирические методы исследования, в результате которых было доказано, что фольклор стоит понимать как процесс, а не как неподвижный исторический пласт народной культуры.
