The article gives an analysis of the artistic structure of the heroic epos of the Khanty people as the source of the national story development in the Khanty literature. As a result of the research it was discovered that the process of transformation of epic motives and themes into literary text as well as peculiarities of styles and poetic figures of speech dating back to folklore intervenes according to the author’s individual, cultural and axiological worldview.

The article considers content-based links between the concepts of «civilization» and «culture» in the Russian and English languages. The purpose of the study is comparing their content-based components in the lexical semantic fields of verbalization of the concepts under consideration in the Russian and English languages. The research employs the method of cognitive comparative analysis. The analysis of lexical and semantic composition reveals similarities and differences in their structuring in the English and Russian languages. According to the author the result of comparison suggests implications that the concepts under study are perceived differently by the representatives of the Russian and English cultures and contributes to the revelation of national peculiarity of conceptualization of cognate phenomena in the mentality of different peoples.

The author of this article describes some of Wang Chong’s (I A.D.) thoughts about the origin of knowledge. Which in turn affects his idea about the Classics and its creators. The analysis is based on the analysis of chapters from Wang Chong’s work, which were translated by the author.

The article describes the women’ characters in Turgenev’s novels, discovers that there is the character of “demonical woman”, which is used in the novels often enough, besides the character of “Turgenev’s young lady”, representing his novels. According to the author the character of “demonical woman” is associated with author’s philosophic point of view about nature and with his love concept, this character is found in the novels, representing love as a fateful power which brings under control freedom. These women’ characteristic features are power and strong personality. The author considers that the character of “demonical woman” is created by Turgenev in real and unreal manners.

The article deals with emotive and emotiogenic aspects of the written text and explains the necessity of introducing the new type of representation of emotive situations with multiple subject of state in the contemporary English text.
