It is shown that expansion of functional capabilities of forest machines is the most important factor in increasing efficiency of the complex of works on the forest. Based on functional and technological analysis new technical solutions are proposed.

Protection of forests from fires is necessary for preservation and development of forest-industrial regions of Russia. Despite years of research, the problem of detection, prevention and extinguishing of forest fires has worsened in many countries of the world. Using the methodology, patentable solutions have been developed to prevent and extinguish forest fires by cutting wood-shrub vegetation while continuously moving basic forest machines.

Reviewed inventions and patents for utility models, patented in 2017-2018 by universities in Russia to perform a set of works on the cutting area.

The article concerns the issues of trashing flaps of mung bean, technology of harvesting, the construction, producing thrashing of the flaps is proposed. Existing three methods of threshing mach culture are presented and analyzed as well as ways of thrashing are described. Advantages and disadvantages of these methods are overseen. According to the patent study the most appropriate device for thrashing of this culture is pointed out. According to studied properties and characteristics of the leaves and mung beans, a new method of threshing  mung bean flaps based on the features of this culture is proposed.
