The article makes an analysis of studies of core values of physical culture among young men students of RSU named after S.A. Esenin, reveales their interest in the study of theoretical material on physical training to include new forms of training in the curricula for physical education that will meet the needs of students in practical and theoretical field of physical education and promote the formation of motivation to healthy lifestyle.

В статье рассматриваются вопросы влияния спортивной деятельности на формирование личности. Описываются ценности физической культуры и спорта, определяются направленности социальных значений спорта. Предлагается классификация стадий социализации человека, занимающегося спортивной деятельностью и дается характеристика каждой стадии.
